What’s your go-to, or current favorite, cocktail recipe at home?
I'm a big fan of non-alcoholic cocktails at the moment, so I am having a heyday with testing out zero proof spirits in all different spritz combinations with my grape nectars. The flavors are just as endless as cocktail mixology and you can really hone in on the subtleties of your ingredients, which I love.
Share your personal favorite ways to use your cocktail syrups.
Grape nectar obviously works as your sugar component in a cocktail, but what is amazing about it is that the wine grapes (what it is made purely from) have a fair amount of acidity, which imparts a lot of flavor and balance to any recipe. You can literally use it with any spirit and it will deliver an elevated taste.
What are some difficulties you have faced as an independent producer, and how do you work to overcome them?
Getting the word out about our products - which is why we love your platform so much! We have such loyal customers once people start using our products, which is something I'm sure many craft producers find, but it's that initial hurdle of obtaining the customer. I don't think anything beats talking to people in person and making that genuine connection, so if I could only clone myself...
Most memorable cocktail bar - can be anywhere in the world!
I've been lucky enough to work very extensively across the western region with my products and visit a large number of bars in the area, but it was on a leisure trip to Portland with my husband where we stumbled into Jeffrey Morgenthaler's Clyde Tavern. I was shocked and amused to see our cocktails come out in the same bottles I use to produce my products (small champagne split bottles), so I clearly have many pictures of drinking out of these bottles in my photo gallery. A wonderful, memorable experience!
Which recent Crafted Pour recipe sounds most delicious to you right this moment?
I am very intrigued by the re-emergence of these natural, craft blue curacaos. It is a surprising trend and I think many of the creatives on crafted pour are doing a phenomenal job representing this!
