Founder Q&A: Dented Brick Distillery
Learn a little bit about Dented Brick Distillery and their CEO Marc Christensen.
How did Dented Brick Distillery get started?
I grew up in Nampa, Idaho, home of the Snake River AVA, a wine region growing red and white wine grapes. I was able to become acquainted with many of the early founders as they planted their vineyards in the late 70's and early 80's. I had thought I would work in the wine industry, but overtime the boom in distilled spirits, and my growing interest in them won me over.
Tell us something that might surprise people about your product(s).
All of our products are made from natural ingredients, grain, sugar, fruit juice, and yeast. We don't use any artificial flavorings or sweeteners.
What are some difficulties you have faced as an independent producer, and how do you work to overcome them?
There is no access to distribution, so it is nearly impossible to scale and to grow out of our home state. We have not overcome this barrier to entry. We are hopeful the Federal government will change the law or proceed with its antitrust lawsuit against the big distribution monopoly.

What’s your go-to, or current favorite, cocktail recipe at home?
Disco-nut coconut rum with sparkling wine or champagne! Add a lime garnish for color. Yum.
